A shift is one thing a person cannot be without when portraying an 18th century lady. They were worn as the layer of clothing closest to the skin, there to protect outer garments from the body.
This shift has full sleeves that are gathered into a slim cuff. The sleeves may be tied closed with cotton tapes (included) or completed with sleeve buttons (coming soon).
For ease of fit, these come with a drawstring neckline. If you would prefer a flat, fitted neck opening, please indicate this in the checkout notes!
Time period: 1770s-1780s
Thread: linen (+ cotton if hand finished)
"Hand Sewn" indicates an item that is made with the most historically accurate methods possible. "Hand Finished" looks entirely correct on the outside, but contains modern interior seam finishes.
