In the 18th century, the item called a housewife (“hussif”) is one that had multiple uses. It could be a container for small personal items, a wallet, a sewing kit, or a combination of these. This housewife, a simple design based off period examples, has been carefully stitched by hand.
Come to the dark side with Imperial's shadowy hues in varying textures. Black wool balzarine and broadcloth are paired with inky silk taffeta and satin, accented with a gunmetal shot silk and bright red needle book. The piece has a black wool exterior, is lined with hidden crimson taffeta, and features pockets individually bound with black petersham ribbon. The finished sewing roll comes with a full spool of thread, a Darth Vader wax piece, and a hand made Cherry wood thread winder.
