In the 18th century, the item called a housewife (“hussif”) is one that had multiple uses. It could be a container for small personal items, a wallet, a sewing kit, or a combination of these. This housewife, a simple design based off period examples, has been carefully stitched by hand.
Youngling features sage and sandy linens, cream and amphibious silk accents, and is finished with a warm chocolate needle book. Everything is bundled safely in a natural linen exterior with natural linen binding and a black silk ribbon.
The finished sewing roll comes with a full spool of thread, a wax piece, and a hand made Cherry wood thread winder.
Note: This is a finished product. If you are looking for a housewife kit, please check out the supply kit section of the website.
